    Report

    I wonder if anyone could let me know how do you create a login for Reporting Server????      Or whatever else I need to do to get this working for the first time.

    I have been trying to get this to work on my home PC.  The PC runs XP Pro and I have IIS running. There is ReportServer Web Site created pointing to a directory called:

    >>>  "C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.3\Reporting Services\ReportServer"

    When I Deploy a report from BIDS to the web site, I get a login prompt for - Reporting Services Login - for http://localhost/ReportServer, requesting User Id and password

    I have tried to login with SQL Server logins including my own id/password, sa, dbo etc without any success. I have tried to change IIS to permit anonymous access

    Re: Report

    1.       Go to http://localhost/Reports

    2.       Click “Properties” tab.

    3.       Click “New Role Assignment”.

    4.       Define a user name and choose or select all of the available roles.

    5.       Click “OK”.

    Re: Report

    Thanks for the tip.  I finally figured it out.....all the books refer to SQL Server creating web sites as http://localhost/Reports and as http://localhost/ReportsServer.  In fact the URL turns out to be http://localhost/Reports$SQLServer etc, etc.

    So I now have the Report Server Web site running after a fashion.

    Thanks
