Any book(SQL 2000 or SQL 2005 or SQL 2008) which contains the detailed information about the Transaction Log

    Any book(SQL 2000 or SQL 2005 or SQL 2008) which contains the detailed information about the Transaction Log

    Can you please suggest me any book(SQL 2000 or SQL 2005 or SQL 2008) which contains the detailed information about the

    a) Transaction Log (means the algo how transaction log stored data information during DDL or DML statements)

    b) Pages and Extends, Detailed information about the all type of pages like Data Page, Index Page, and Text/Image Page.

    I found number of article from the net but didn’t provide the detailed information.

    For the 2000 area, either Ken Henderson's The Guru's Guide to SQL SErver Architecture and Internals or Kalen Delaney's Inside SQL Server 2000. For 2005, the only one that I know of that comes close to what you're asking for is Kalen Delaney's Inside Sql SErver 2005: The Storage Engine.

    You should have the late Ken Henderson's book anyway because it is such fun to read.

    Yet another reason to regret his passing. His books really were enjoyable to read which is exceedingly rare in the technology sphere.
