ANTS Profiler 3 BETA

Published Monday, February 05, 2007 8:51 AM

As some of you who have been reading my blog know we're working on the next version of ANTS Profiler for all you lovely people. As part of our product development we normally release a beta so that people can use it in their environment and get back to us with any issues that they are having. So it won't come as a terrible surprise that we will be releasing a beta for ANTS Profiler 3.0 soon.

Here's a list of what we've got to give you in the new version and features that we'd especially like peoples feedback on...

    64-bit support (x64)
    Fast-mode performance profiling
API support for enabling/disabling the profiler and taking snapshots
    Webdev support
    Improved project wizard
Ability to view results in an unlicensed version
    Visual Studio 2003 and 2005 add-ins
    IIS 7 support
BadImageFormat exception has been fixed Smile (Praise be to Rob)

Sadly we're not accepting feature requests at this late point in the development cycle for this version but please feel free to comment here about features you'd like to see in future versions.

One thing I'll mention here although it won't be visible in the beta is that we've modified the licenses so there is an ANTS Profiler Standard and an ANTS Profiler Pro. The features in the Pro version are Memory Profiling, Profiling API and Fast mode performance profiling. Everybody who has paid for support and upgrades will automatically have a license for ANTS Profiler 3.0 Pro so don't worry Smile.

So if you're still reading by this point and want to take part in the beta program, we're hoping to have it available in the next couple of weeks.

If you have any specific questions or anything regarding the beta query we'll be setting up a forum for it soon otherwise you can email us at...

ants@red-gate.com

This email will only be checked for the duration of the Beta program.

PS
I've copied this announcement from http://www.red-gate.com/messageboard/viewtopic.php?t=4252

The support forum for the beta will be available at http://www.red-gate.com/messageboard/viewforum.php?f=60. As this is a beta the only support will be via the forum and ants@red-gate.com
