Technical Author - Red Gate Software

About me and my blog

Hello world!

I'm Dom Smith and I've been working as a Technical Author in the .NET Developer Tools division at Red Gate Software since May 2010.

Working as an author in a software working at the leading edge of some of Microsoft's most exciting technologies is necessarily a technical challenge for a writer and so it should come as little surprise to hear that I'm a bit of a geek in my spare time. My main interest outside of work is amateur ('ham') radio and I also enjoy website development.

This blog will primarily act as a behind-the-scenes look at some of the most interesting bits of authoring I am working on, although in the process I will doubtless touch on some of the hot topics in the wider field of technical communication.
