**SQL Prompt 3.5 Released**

Published Thursday, July 26, 2007 6:20 PM

Well, this is it, it's finally out there. Download it from

http://www.red-gate.com/products/SQL_Prompt/index.htm

Improvements include:

  • Visual Studio 2005 database project support
  • Cross database queries
  • Distributed queries across linked SQL Server instances
  • Correlated subqueries
  • 3 – 5 times faster metadata retrieval
  • Large script support
  • 40 – 95% decrease in memory footprint

And plenty more. I'll be carrying on my more in depth look into the functionality with a discussion of cross-database and distributed queries next. The past few days have been quite busy tying up loose ends and providing training for our Technical Services, Sales and Marketing teams.

Enjoy the new functionality!

About Bart Read

I've had a few jobs since graduating, but for the last four years I've been settled at Red Gate Software in Cambridge, UK. Over that time I've worked on a wide range of products, both as a developer and as a project manager, including 18 months on SQL Prompt; right now I'm finishing up with ANTS Profiler 4, which we think is going to be amazing - hopefully you will too.
